Abstract:

Wireless local-area network (WLAN) transceivers are being included in most of mobile devices, from mobile phones and PDAs to portable computers. This trend is reducing the power consumption specifications of this kind of devices. In this paper, a complex filter for WLAN applications is presented. The high-linearity and low noise requirements are achieved with lowpower consumption by selecting a gm-C filter emulating a RLC ladder structure implemented using a novel programmable transconductor based on quasi-floating-gates. The filter has been designed in a 0.5 μm CMOS technology from 3.3V power supply.
