Emilio Torres was born in Mayenne, France. He received his B.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) in 2015, when he presented his B.D. Dissertation “Design of a Wake-Up Receiver for Wireless Sensors Networks Using a Down-Conversion Mixer” rated with honours.
In 2016 he received his M.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering also from the ULPGC, when he presented his M.D. Dissertation “Design of a Wake-Up Receiver for WSN based in the Uncertain-IF architecture”, also rated with honours.
Since 2015 he has been with the Microelectronic Technologic Division (RFIC Group) of the Institute for Applied Microelectronics (IUMA), at the ULPGC. His research interests include Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits for wireless telecommunications, with particular attention to the design of Wake-Up Receivers in CMOS technology for Wireless Sensors Networks.
