Javier A. García y García (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, 1968) obtained his Ms. Physics degree (specialized in Electronics) in 1993 from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and in 2001 Electronic Engineering PhD degree from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He researches with the Institute for Applied Microelectronics (IUMA) involved in the Microelectronics Technology Division (TME) in the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). He was an Invited Researcher in the Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Técnicas de Guipúzcoa (CEIT), Spain, and the Engineering School (TECNUN) of the University of Navarra. Since 2003, he is Associated Professor from the Department of Electronic Engineering and Control in the ULPGC. He is a member of the IEEE Electron Devices Society and additionally, he currently serves as an active reviewer of the IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, International Journal of Electronics, and International Journal of Electronics Letters.

His research interests include:

  • Timing and power consumption modelling,
  • high-frequency integrated circuits for telecommunications,
  • design, characterization and modelling of integrated inductors and varactors,
  • characterization and modelling of GaN transistors.
